Classroom Instruction & Behind-the-Wheel Training: 240 Hours

8 weeks

Our program prepares students to operate tractor-trailer combinations, with special focus on safety, vehicle inspection, preventative maintenance and maneuvers in a variety of traffic situations and environments. The course gives participants an overview of the Class A Commercial Driver’s License requirements and prepares them for a career in the commercial driving industry. In-depth coverage of the Pre-trip, in-cab air brake test and backward movements will allow students to demonstrate the safe operation of a commercial vehicle, perform required driving maneuvers, and comply with legal regulations. After classroom instruction and behind the wheel and on the road training, participants will be ready to take the Commercial Driver License driving examination at the Department of Public Safety.

The Manufacturing and Industrial pathway concentrating on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to travel down a multitude of diverse career paths. There are several sectors within the HVAC industry, including residential, commercial, industrial, distribution, and manufacturing. There are various opportunities within each of these sectors. For instance, the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors have service technicians, maintenance technicians, sales representatives, customer service representatives, service managers, sales managers, and office managers. Of course, there is also the opportunity for entrepreneurship: the opportunity to own an HVAC company.

The distribution and manufacturing sectors have career opportunities like warehouse specialists, parts counter service representatives, assembly line workers, sales representatives, inventory specialists, accountants, delivery drivers, technical support staff, trainers, sales managers, executive positions, and more.

Transport cargo across state and regional lines. Tanker, flatbed, and livestock hauling. Operate and locate delivery trucks, transport hazardous materials, and operate construction machinery.
