Emergency aid funding available to each student is limited; however, SRAC staff members will work with you to connect you to outside resources and financial aid.

In the Know about Emergency Aid
Emergency aid funding is intended to address unexpected emergency situations that may impact your ability to be successful at Lee College. The funding is meant to help you overcome the barrier and set you up for future success, so you no longer need aid.
Our Commitments Are:
- We will connect and advocate for resources to address your individual circumstances.
- We will treat you with respect and make you feel welcome.
- We will care about your well-being and will be empathetic to your needs.
- We will actively listen and respond in an appropriate and timely manner.
- We will maintain confidentiality with the exception of situations involving sexual harassment and discrimination, domestic violence, child abuse, and danger to self and/ or others. If these situations are disclosed, they must be reported to appropriate agencies.
Emergency Aid is:
- Available once per semester to students who are currently enrolled in an active Lee College course.
- Paid directly to approved vendors that accept credit card payments on your behalf.
- Limited amounts based on funding sources.
- Limited based on how many times a student has been previously awarded emergency aid.
- Separate and different from Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Emergency Aid funding is not:
- Continued or guaranteed aid
- Replacement for seeking assistance from other organizations or support opportunities
- For tuition, credit cards, court fees, traffic tickets, technology equipment, textbook or other course materials, and other non-basic needs.
Important Things to Know
- Documentation must be provided to show the current need for assistance. Examples may include bills, quotes, lease agreements, or other contractual documents.
- Emergency aid funding to students who have previously received emergency aid funding, will be limited to students who have:
- Demonstrated progression and successful completion of courses toward their academic goals.
- Acquired additional, sustainable sources of income.
- Received and/or attempted to secure additional government benefits or support from other non-profit organizations.
- Participated in financial wellness educational programs.
- Emergency aid awards are limited to a maximum of 4 semesters. Semesters where a student applied but was not awarded do not count towards this limit.
- Any unauthorized use of Lee College payment methods may result in fraud charges and a referral to the student conduct office.
- Emergency Aid funding does not roll over from one semester to the next. New requests must be submitted each semester.
