Amanda Summers is the Executive Director of Human Resources at Lee College. She has been working in HR management for 15 years, and the "human" component of the profession is her favorite part. She has long believed that it is important to love your job, enjoy your colleagues, and provide opportunities for others to grow and make an impact.
As executive director, she is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership for all aspects of the college's HR functions for more than 800 active employees. This includes policy development, recruiting/staffing, classification and compensation, benefit administration, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
Ms. Summers is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) with a Professional Human Resources designation/certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute. She is also a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) and currently serves as Vice President of the Texas Association of Community College Human Resource Professionals (TACCHRP).
Ms. Summers earned a master of science degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Lamar University and a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Texas A&M University.
